Perennial.  Can be summer decidious.  Very interesting plant with long flowering period. Very adaptable and grows over a wide range of elevations, soil types and habitats.  Can grow into a small shrub depending on conditions.

 

Easy to grow.  Drought tolerant.

 

Can take some summer irrigation after established but limited only.
