Larger shrub.  One of the larger buckwheats.  Large showy display of white flowers.  Reported to be very drought tolerant and hearty on the SJ Valley area.

Large showy display of yellow flowers in Spring.  Smaller that F californicum - a very good size for most landscaping applications. Fast growing.  Needs good drainage - no summer water, especially in heavy soil. Prune to desired shape. Cross between F. californica ssp. decumbens x 'Californica Glory'

Larger shrub.  Extremely drought tolerant - needs no summer irrigation.  Very easy to grow - especially if planted in the fall. Flowers early summer with red berry like fruit in winter.  

Good hedge plant for screening. Very adaptable to most lower elevation climates.

Great larger shrub hedge or screening plant.

Peritoma arborea Common Name:  Bladderpod

Genus can also be Isomeris or Cleome.  Interesting desert plant with unusual fruits.  Does not like over watering - keep it arid.  Apparently can bloom all months of the year.  New to the nursery.

Found mainly in the Eastern Sierras.  Green mounding plant that can be pruned to desired shape. Important browse plant for deer.  Needs dry condidtions but can take some irrigation.  Can be summer decidious if no water in summer.  Comes back in fall with moisture.  A common companion during East Sierra camping and backpacking trips - nice to have it part of the landscape.  Good as individual or multi-plant mid-lerel border.

Likes: Full to Part Sun

Fast growing evergreen shrub to 6ft+.  Deer and frost do not bother.  Grow as a tall divider/screen. Prune to desired shape and height. Easy to grow.  Frangula is new botanical name. Birds like the berries.

Native to S. Calif and Baja.  Large showy "poppy" flowers.  Spreads by rhizomes.  Very attractive landscape plant. Does not need irrigation after established.  Summer deciduous.
