Widely distributed.  Basal leaves with long leafless flower stem.  Flower can be white, pink or yellow.  Interesting accent plant, low maintenance.  

 

Can take some summer irrigation after established.

Flower Color: Yellow

Likes: Full Sun

Exceptional garden addition.  .Low growing, perenial,  mounding shrub.  Native from California to Colorado. Can be variable dependent on growing conditions and the specific plant. Lower plant with flower clusters on 6' stems.  Very drought tolerant.

Eriogonum crocatum is a rare species of wild Buckwheat that is endemic to the Conejo Valley and surrounding regions in Ventura County, California. It grows on open, dry hillsides, often in crags in rock faces. Conejo Buckwheat is a perennial shrub. Its foliage is a striking silvery green, with woolly leaves. It flowers from April-August, bearing clusters of tiny bright, sulfur yellow flowers.  www.calscape.org

Type: 2'tall x 4' wide

Flowers: Spring into Summer

Flower Color: White/Pink

Likes: Full Sun

Attracts birds and butterflies.  Very adaptable, however does not like excessive moisture.  Mounding type of shrub with light pink flowers in Spring.  Can use as a hedge or mix with other Buckwheats and accent plants. Can take 1-3 years to put on a display but worth the wait.

Flowers: Spring into Summer dependent on moisture

Flower Color: White/Pink

Likes: Full Sun

Native to the Channel Island along the Coast of California. Likes full sun.  Can grow to 3-4 feet tall but usually smaller inland. Likes some summer water - which will encourage a larger plant. 

Nice as a higher level ground cover in massed plantings or as an accent under Oaks.  Flowers attract butterflies.

Larger shrub.  One of the larger buckwheats.  Large showy display of white flowers.  Reported to be very drought tolerant and hearty in the SJ Valley area.
